Welcome to the art & literature guide!
Here you can find an overview of the rules and requirements which apply to artwork (written or visual) submitted to Pools of the Niravar for official group activities. Any art created for this group with the intention of redeeming rewards for it needs to adhere to the rules listed below – if there are any issues, you may be asked to edit the image or writing and resubmit.
Pools of the Niravar has also established minimum pricing for commissions advertised within the group, starting at $10 for a single Niravar in a single Activity Roll, so as to prevent underpricing and promote a healthy market for artists within our group. Read more about the pricing rules here. |
Middle ages to early Enlightenment (A.D. 1700)
These are the time periods the group is based on. As a result, everything depicted in Niravar artwork should match these time periods, not in perfect historical accuracy, but in terms of technological development. |
Art should match the Niravar's import.
All major trait edits to your Niravar must be officially applied to the import before being shown in artwork. Clothing, jewelry, armor, and different styles of their existing mane do not count for this rule. |
All artwork is made by the artist.
Written pieces must be written in their entirety by the author claiming ownership of them. Visual art may not utilise photos, photomanipulations, AI-generated images, or anything similar for backgrounds or any other part of the image. We encourage using references, but the resulting work should be made by hand by the artist. |
Art pieces should match your gallery standard.
Pools of the Niravar strives to remove the 'grind' from ARPGs and make it so that each individual art piece is valuable and yields lucrative rewards. As such, art pieces submitted for our activities should not appear rushed or heavily simplified compared to the rest of your gallery.* |
Collaborations are always welcome.
In most areas of the group, it is possible to participate via collaborations. However, keep in mind activities have a maximum number of Niravar that are able to participate - please make sure that the number of people working on the piece is lower than or matches that number, so everyone can get the rewards from the collaboration. |
Group lore is treated on an 'all or nothing' basis.
For certain activities, you may portray your Niravar outside of group lore, and in a world entirely of your own making. When choosing this option, the world may not be an AU of Terran, but must rather be entirely separate. This is to prevent each group member from having their own AU of the group lore that slightly deviates from the official story, which we believe would get rather confusing. |

"Panorama" Backgrounds
Panorama background are a common occurrence in ARPGs, especially in sets of images such as Rites or Activity Rolls. They typically consist of a single environment sliced into multiple panels, which creates a set of multiple entries for a given activity with a continuous background. Panorama backgrounds are not prohibited in Pools of the Niravar, but the details displayed within them, while allowed to overlap between the panels, must have variety to them. A set of images displaying one background with the same 3 elements but split into multiple panels will likely not be accepted due to the elements being far too repetitive for the individual images to count as separate entries. This can easily be resolved by adding unique background details to each panel. In our example, this is a cloud in the leftmost panel, a castle in the center one, and a forest with a path and maybe some flowers in the last one. As there are now unique elements in each panel, the set would be accepted. |
