Picking a Base Color
There are 10 different base coat groups that a Niravar may have, and that doesn't include anomalies! You can view all of the different base color groups in our Base Coats section, but for the purpose of this guide we will continue with our beginning geno.
Our geno has a Ruby base coat which means we will use this palette!

Niravar may have a single solid base coat with subtle nuances OR a two color vertical gradient.
This is what a solid base coat should look like with subtle nuances.
The range nuances fall under depends on how your art program handles an HSV slider. SAI1 uses a scale of 1-255, while SAI2, Clip Studio Paint and Photoshop use a 1-100 scale. In SAI1, nuances be may be 20 points lighter and/or darker than the base color. In SAI2, CSP or PS, nuances may be 10% lighter and/or darker than the base color. The saturation and hue should not be altered at all! |
This is what a two color vertical gradient should look like. When selecting your two colors, both must come from within the same box on the palette and blend seamlessly into each other! You may choose which color goes on top and which goes on the bottom.
Vertical Gradients may not have nuances like the single color base coat. |
Nuances should NOT look like this!
A two color vertical gradient should not look like this!
This is the two color gradient we've decided on for our geno.
