Welcome to our marking guides page! Here you can find information on all markings and anomalies available within Pools of the Niravar. The markings are sorted into three tiers based on rarity: Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Event Exclusive. At the top of the page, you can find free markings, which can be applied to any Niravar without being present in their genotype/phenotype. Also at the top of the page are the anomalies and illegal marking variants present within the game. |

AnomaliesAnomalies are special variants of existing markings which modify the base ('parent') marking and give it special properties. They have a chance to appear in any breeding containing the given base marking. A Niravar with an anomaly doesn't have a higher chance of an anomaly occurring in their cubs - it is 100% random.

Illegal MarkingsIllegal markings are special versions of markings that can only be displayed on the Niravar if a specific starter is in their visible lineage. A special category of markings introduced in 324 A.C. Event markings are markings exclusively obtainable through a special items called marking essences. These are awarded for event participation, or can be purchased in event stores. Event markings cannot be passed down to the Niravar's offspring. They act exactly like acquired mutations and do not show in the genotype or phenotype after being applied.
Event markings can be applied to a geno in Design Approval, or to an existing import. If you wish to edit the import beyond just adding the event marking, a Touch-up Brush or Makeover Kit will be required.
