In Pools of the Niravar, two Nir may be paired together to create offspring who will have aspects derived from both parents, and occasionally, mutations that appear randomly regardless of the parents.
Build Pass Rates
There are three builds available in Pools of the Niravar: The Swift, the Draft, and the Skalka.

Litter SizeAll Niravar regardless of build or rank have the chance to produce a litter of 1-3 cubs from a single Aether Invocation. This amount can be increased through different methods, such as the Aether Blessed skill or Sincere Prayer. When invoking, there is not chance for an empty litter so you will always be guaranteed at least 1 cub.

Base Coat Pass Rates
- Any 'rainbow' color invoked against a Jet or Moonstone base may result in a Dark or Dilute base coat anomaly 20% of the time. Jet can result in Dark, while Moonstone can result in Dilute.
- The first six colors in the table can be divided into primary (Ruby, Lapis, Citrine) and secondary (Carnelian, Emerald, Amethyst)
- Like when mixing paints, pairing 2 primary color base coats (Ruby x Citrine) can result in a secondary color (Carnelian).
- And you know how you used to mix paint as a kid because it was so much fun watching all the colors somehow turn to brown? When you pair 2 complementary colors (Ruby x Emerald) the offspring may end up with a Topaz base coat.

- Rare markings cannot be dominant.
- Dominant markings greatly improve the chances of passing the marking, but do not guarantee it.
- Some items may guarantee a common marking, or greatly increase the chance of an uncommon or rare marking passing.
- These items do not increase the chance for dominant markings.
- The maximum number of markings a Niravar can get in an Aether Invocation is 8.
- Should any genos with more than 8 markings appear, the markings will be removed to fit within the limit based on their rarity, with common markings removed before any UC or rare ones.

Marking Anomalies
Marking anomalies are special variations of a marking that can randomly appear on an offspring who has the required core marking. A parent with an anomaly does not increase the chance their offspring will also have the anomaly.
|
Illegal Markings
Certain starters may carry the rare ability to alter a specific marking, giving it a new appearance. These differences are very akin to a marking anomaly, but can only be seen if a Niravar shares the special starter in their visible lineage.

Genetic Traits
A Niravar's traits can be divided into three categories of rarity. Despite the differences, each group is not drastically more or less likely to drop when paired with a trait from another group.
- Smooth barding is a special case in that there is a 10% chance it will appear on offspring regardless of the Parents' barding.

Mutations
Sometimes a Niravar is born with a physical trait that is not tied to either parent. These traits are known as mutations and a Niravar can have up to 2 mutations acquired at birth.
